Academic

This Institution feels happy to put forward the results of class X and XII in March 2005. 65 students appeared for AISSE (X class) and 61 turned successful with a pass percentage of 94%. 46 students appeared for AISSCE (XII class) and achieved 100% result.

IT (Computer Literacy Excellence Award - 2004)

The vidyalaya boasts of a state of the art facility in the field of computers and Information technology. Our vidyalaya feels proud to announce that we have carved an enviable position in this field by bagging awards at the state and national level. At the state level we stood first among the Govt. and Municipal Schools and we were the proud recipient of the 3^rd position at the national level in the implementation of IT in the vidyalaya in a big way. The Computer Literacy Excellence Award for Schools carrying a total cash prize of Rs 4.5 lakhs, a trophy and a certificate was presented to the vidyalaya by His Excellency Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam, President of India on 07 December’2005 at a colourful function in the Vigyan Bhavan Hall in New Delhi .

We also bagged the fourth prize at the ICT Fair 2005 sponsored jointly by Intel and Microsoft for the implementation of computers in the field of education.

Ø Science (Science Talent Discovery Fair)
Our vidyalaya participated in the Cluster level Science Talent Discovery Fair conducted by Intel. Two projects done by Kumari. Rajalakshmi and Kumari Preethi Grace both of Class XI were selected for Regional Level. They were guided in their endeavour by Mr.Purusothama Rao, PGT Biology and Mrs.J.Karpaga Mala, PGT Chemistry respectively.

In the regional level Fair, Miss. Preethi Grace was selected to participate in the National Level Fair. Miss. Preethi Grace and Miss. Malliga participated in the Science Congress conducted by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti at Indian Institutite of Science at Bangalore .

Another crowning moment was one of the members of our staff; Mrs.J.Karpaga Mala PGT Chemistry bagged The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti Technology Award 2005 – at the National level in the teacher category for the best use of computers in the classroom.

The Award carrying a certificate and a cash prize of Rs.10,000/- was given by the Honorable Commissioner, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.

Scientist Award
An innovative project titled “Jatropha-A Boon” done by Kumari. T. Preethi Grace and her active participation in the field of Science brought her the coveted YOUNG SCIENTIST AWARD 2005 from the Science and Technology Department of Govt. of Pondicherry .

NCC

· Best Cadet: Miss S.Saranya, a student of Class X bagged the best cadet award from INDEP Coy.

· Sahara Scholarship: Miss. S. Sivasankari and Miss, I.Malliga were sponsored under the Sahara

Scholarship by the NCC Directorate, Govt. Of Pondicherry

Sports (2005-06)

· Master. B. Kathiravan of Class XII represented the Hyderabad Foot Ball Team in the National Level football held in Shillong region.

· Master. B. Prakash of Class XII class represented the Basket Ball Team of Hyderabad

Region in Rajasthan.

· Kumari. Meena , Kumari. Jayapradha both from X^th class, Kumari. Sadhana of VIII ^th

class, Kumari. Sivasankari of XI^thclass represented Hyderabad Kabaddi Team in the

Nationals held at JNV, Shimoga.

· Among them Kumari. Jayapradha, Kumari. Sadhana and Kumari. Sivasankari were

selected for School Games Federation of India and brought laurels to the Hyderabad

Region thus adding a new feather to the Physical Education cap of JNV, Pondicherry

in the field of Games and Sports.

. Kumari G.Pramila, Kumari Illakiya, Kumari Vaijayanthi and Kumari Suganya represented

Pondicherry in the sub-junior kabbadi. Kumari G. Hinduja represented the state in the

sub-junior basketball.
